LATE December 3, 2004/EARLY December 4, 2004
The New York Times
Bush's Ohio Win Was Closer Than Thought
Yeah - no kidding.
The Cleveland Plain Dealer
Cheers and Jeers
[specific jeer] "JEERS . . . to the tiresome and certain-to-be-futile efforts of those who would recount Ohio's presidential votes until the punch cards are worn to shreds. Attention Jesse Jackson, the Green Party, the Libertarian Party, People for the American Way, et al: George W. Bush won, John Kerry lost. The next presidential election will be in 2008. This one is over. " Methinks the lady doth protest too much...
The Houston Chronicle
Bush victory in Ohio closer than previously thought
The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
Bush's victory in Ohio was a little closer than originally thought, won't trigger recount
Huh? Should that be "...won't trigger automatic recount"? Last time I checked, by the laws of the state of Ohio, the criteria for a state-wide recount had been met.
The San Francisco Chronicle ran this story also.
The Santa Fe New Mexican
Recount to test state's voting process still uncertain
The Seattle Times
Democrats will finance a statewide hand recount
Article on Gregoire's recount efforts.
Rotten Denmark has some good information on political involvement in the controversy over voting irregularities also - check it out.
Now, finally, I can go to bed.
